Using ChatGPT to Discover Thought Leadership Gems For LinkedIn Prospect Nurture Campaigns
In this monthly series, we’ll deep-dive to understand how MSPs can leverage Generative Al to save time, drive sales, and fuel expansion with real-world tips, prompts and examples to help you improve your lead generation and sales outcomes.

Step 3: Using ChatGPT to Find Relevant Thought Leadership Articles
Once your prospects have begun accepting your connection requests, it’s time to nurture them with thought leadership.Don’t make the mistake of immediately bombarding them with your sales pitches and appointment-setting requests. You’ll lose a potentially great prospect if you do.Instead, leverage the “4 to l” strategy as you nurture your prospects.This means giving four items of value before asking for anything in return.
In this strategy, you’ll use ChatGPT to find four online thought leadership articles (or your own if they aren’t salesy) to send to your new prospects before asking them for a meetup to grab coffee or have a quick chat to explore opportunities to work together. During article review, make sure you click on each URL to make sure it’s “real” (Al is known to fabricate data from time to time). and the article it points to is relevant to your target audience.
ChatGPT PROMPT:
You are a [role (stick with blogger for the best result)] who writes about the [target industry] and the challenges [target roles] face. I’d like you to please find 10 of the most recent and relevant news articles in the [target industry] industry that affect [target audience and role] and provide the title and a short summary of each article’s key points, along with a link to the online article.
PROMPT EXAMPLE:
You are a blogger who writes about the cybersecurity industry and the challenges CISOs face. I’d like you to please find 5 of the most recent and relevant news articles in the cybersecurity or technology industry that affect small and medium business CISOs and provide the title and a short summary of each article’s key points, along with a link to the online article.
PROMPT EXAMPLE OUTPUT:
Step 3.1: SELECT AN APPROPRIATE ARTICLE TO USE IN YOUR NURTURE EMAIL AND SEND IT TO YOUR PROSPECT:
After reading each article and ensuring the synopsis and URL are are correct, let’s select article #4 for our first nurture message to our prospects. I recommend sending prospects three or four articles of interest to strengthen your thought leadership brand with them before asking for something in return, like a chat or meetup. This differentiates you, your message and value from all of the other sales pitches and noise cluttering up your prospects’ LinkedIn messages, improving the odds that they’ll engage with you.
EXAMPLE MESSAGE:
Hi Erick. I came across this article – “New SEC Cybersecurity Regulation:CISO Requirements & Recommendations,” and thought it might strike a chord with you. Here’s the link. Let me know your thoughts!
RINSE AND REPEAT THIS PROCESS FOR ALL PROSPECTS THAT MEET THIS IDEAL CUSTOMER PROFILE, WHERE ALL OF YOUR MESSAGES AND ARTICLES CAN BE REPURPOSED TO THE ENTIRE LIST.
